Support
Bethesda the House of Mercy is a ministry of mercy and reconciliation, helping you to choose a relationship with the Heart of the Good Shepherd, who binds the wounds of the lost and brokenhearted. Healing from abortion is a new beginning in your relationship with God and a season of reconciliation with yourself and others in your life.
- One-on-one peer support. As companions for the journey, we provide a listening heart, prayer, and encouragement. Healing is experiencing the mercy of God within the context of a loving relationship rooted in the Heart of our Good Shepherd. At Bethesda, the peer support ministers facilitate this sacred encounter by providing spiritual direction and support through the process of reconciliation.
- A telephone crisis line staffed by women who are ready to listen to your story with compassion, to faithfully pray for your needs, and to offer assistance to those in need of a referral for counseling, peer support, or legal advice.
- A resource library providing materials and books to help you understand the healing process, to grow in trust and faith in the mercy of God, and to develop healthy, life-giving relationships with others.
- Referrals to clergy and a professional counselor trained in post-abortion trauma and healing.
- Sacrament of Reconciliation, annual retreats, evenings and days of reflection, Liturgy, inner healing prayer and other opportunities for prayer and fellowship as the journey of healing continues throughout the year at Bethesda. Members of the Bethesda community are always available for prayer and spiritual guidance.
- Intercessory prayer support. Email us your prayer requests. The Bethesda Community and the Contemplative Sisters of the Good Shepherd will cover you in our prayers, approaching our Lord with confident expectation in His loving response of grace. We believe in a God who hears the cries of every wounded heart, a God who delights in giving good gifts, a God who provides for all of our needs according to the richness of His glory. We believe in miracles.
- Testimonial speakers to share their stories, educate the community on the emotional and spiritual aftermath of abortion, and give witness to the saving power of our Lord Jesus Christ.
- Prison Outreach to those who are in need of Post Abortion healing, prayer and support.
